We have learned some very important lessons photographing Edmonton weddings. Early on in our career our couples would want to take their wedding photos at the Alberta Legislative Grounds and many would ask for this iconic photo by the fountain. We love it and continue to do it for couples that request it. What has changed though is that we DO NOT go anywhere near the main staircase any more. The reason being is there are usually 3-4 wedding parties at any given time lined up for their turn on the stairs. I am not sure if anybody is aware that their are 4 identical staircases on each side of the building. This is where experience really pays off. We prefer to take our couples to more secluded areas of the grounds instead of the higher traffic areas.
We have a few shady spots that we like to use because nobody wants to stand out in the hot sun all day especially in a suit.
