Edmonton Winter Wedding

When it comes to photographing winter weddings there are a few things that we can guarantee.

It is going to be magical because everything looks better with a little, or a lot of snow. Let's be honest once the leaves have changed colour and fallen everyone is waiting for that first snowfall. I think it's the kid in all of us. To be completely honest it is my favourite time of the year to create portraits.

The second thing about winter weddings is that it can be cold. The groom and his groomsmen will welcome the change in temperature because they are usually wearing a big heavy suit in August when it's +30 sweating buckets. When the temperature gets too cold we highly recommend warm up breaks. This works perfect because we can split the wedding party up and have one side staying warm while the others are outside doing their best "Blue Steel" impressions.

In this photograph we have Thomas and Madison. We first met them at Bridal Fantasy. When they told us they were having a winter wedding we could hardly contain our excitement. There wedding was in the beginning of November and the first snowfall of the year was 3 days before the wedding. It was magical!

Madison's dress was from the Bridal House in Edmonton, AB. Because of the temperature she added a coat that worked perfectly with her dress.
