Salisbury Composite High School Student
My interests include horseback riding, travelling, and running. As a competitive horseback rider, I have competed in many disciplines within the sport. My competitions have taken me around the world, where I took part in the International Mounted Games. Another horse related interests have led me to three-day eventing, which is considered to be the most difficult equestrian discipline.
My passion for travelling began with my Mounted Games trips and has led me to a desire to travel the world.
My mother has been a major influence in my passion to run as she was the one who encouraged me to sign up for my first half marathon with her. After completing the half marathon in May of 2011, the drive to accomplish a full marathon has motivated me to continually train to eventually achieve my first marathon. My previous involvement in triathlons has also played a part in my success as a runner.
I have been involved in Pony Club for 9 years. For 3 of the 9 years I was the youth representative for Strathcona Pony Club. The position of youth representative involves travelling to Toronto once a year with all of the other youth reps in Canada to discuss future events, rules, competitions, and complete a year end write up of our year as a club.
After I graduate, I plan to attend the University of Alberta and take Elementary Education, and complete my degree to pursue a career as an elementary school teacher. I have always had the desire to teach young kids skills that will lead to success later in their lives.
My hobbies are horseback riding and running.
