Government House Edmonton Wedding

This wedding photo location has been one of our favourites for awhile now. The building was restored in 1964. It used to be the official residence of the lieutenant governor of Alberta. Can you imagine that giant front lawn as your own front yard? Thankfully the museum moved downtown which has reduced the amount of traffic substantially. This is great news because less traffic means more space for you and your wedding party. I also use the Government House for many of my fall family sessions as well. There is an enormous tree on the east side of the building that is perfect. There is another spot that isn't used very often and it's kind of a secret. If you walk east towards the trees there is a staircase that leads you into the forest with some overhanging trees. It's such a great spot for wedding photos. The Government House has a grand veranda that is also very popular. Depending on the time of day it can also provide a welcome break from the shade.

Location: 12845 102 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5N 0M6.
